BEIJING, May 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- At the China (Guizhou) - Thailand Cultural and Tourism Business Meeting held in Bangkok on May 16, regional officials and stakeholders from both Guizhou Province and the Kingdom of Thailand engaged in formal discussions aimed at establishing a bilateral market alignment framework. The meeting concluded with a consensus centered on actionable joint initiatives, including reciprocal promotion of tourism assets and facilitation of cross-border visitor exchanges between Guizhou and Thailand.
During the meeting, the delegation from Guizhou delivered a presentation on the province's burgeoning cultural and tourism economy and extended a formal invitation for Thailand to become a Global Partner of Colorful Guizhou. The proposed partnership seeks to build on mutual development prospects and support a shared vision for long-term regional growth. In line with this goal, the Guizhou Travel Association executed a memorandum of understanding with the Thailand Tourism Association. In addition, the Guizhou Travel Association Inbound Tourism Branch entered into a separate agreement with the Thai Travel Agents Association. These accords identified three primary objectives: joint promotion of resources, market integration, and co-development of tourism services. Drawing on each party's comparative advantages, both sides intend to establish a replicable model for international tourism collaboration.
Several of the Thai tour operators in attendance cited Guizhou's Huangguoshu Waterfall as a compelling destination for outbound Thai travelers, identifying it as a promising entry point for tourism growth. They also expressed strong interest in aligning with Guizhou's existing tourism incentive programs to strengthen the partnership.
Noor Ahmad Hamid, CEO of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), commended Guizhou's exceptional landscape, distinct cultural legacy, and hospitality. He expressed strong interest in collaborating with the Guizhou Provincial Government, reaffirming PATA's commitment to expanding global awareness of the region and attracting travelers from across the globe to experience what Guizhou has to offer.
As China and Thailand mark the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relationship, Guizhou continues to develop global connections that enhance tourism standards. This initiative includes a regional tourism corridor that links Hong Kong, Macao, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Guilin, Guiyang, Kunming, and Bangkok. Its overarching objective is to deepen cultural exchange, strengthen international engagement, and shape a brighter, more connected future.
